From August 13-17, 2024, the 白小姐三肖三码必中一期 Osteopathic Health Policy Fellowship (OHPF) class of 2025 kicked off its new year with an inspiring orientation in Columbus and Dublin, Ohio. Over three and a half days, the meetings were held at a local public health agency, the Ohio Statehouse and Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) Dublin campus. Across more than 12 sessions, the fellows engaged with a wide array of policymakers and experts, including public health officials and advocates, the state Medicaid director, policy-involved physicians, legislative affairs personnel, a health reporter and previous graduates of the program.

In addition to work on some of the most foundational policy questions, especially concerning access, cost and quality in traditional healthcare, the overarching theme was how osteopathic professionals can look beyond clinical medicine to positively shape the health of populations in the communities where people live and work.

On the final day, before departing Columbus, the fellows participated in a training session on creativity and perspective held at the Columbus Museum of Art. Through this training, the fellows were taught skills for remaining intellectually and emotionally open as they address some of the most intractable challenges in the pursuit of improved health.

This year’s class is composed of 12 osteopathic physicians and medical educators from ten states. The group brings to the program a diverse range of backgrounds and interests; it is unified by a collective desire to learn how to understand and influence policy debates in the United States and beyond.

OHPF Director, Daniel Skinner, PhD, professor of health policy at OU-HCOM, said, “It was wonderful finally getting to meet the new class in person. After a year of planning, it’s exciting to get down to the hard work of understanding how policy can help us improve the health of patients and populations. It’s going to be a great year.”

The Osteopathic Health Policy Fellowship’s next session will take place in Boise and Meridian, Idaho, in October, hosted by the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine.
